To complement its furniture collection, Artek launched the “abc Collection & ” in 2012: This collection brings together small, everyday items that complement the Finnish manufacturer’s legendary furniture and lighting and bring joy every time you see them. The Icon Posters, designed by the German design duo Greige, are part of this collection and depict legendary furniture in an iconic, pictogram-like style. The “ Artek ” Icon Poster “Beehive” depicts the famous A331 lamp, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1953. Originally designed for the University of Jyväskylä, the pendant lamp quickly gained popularity because, thanks to its distinctive shape, the “ & ” “Beehive & ” remains decorative and sculptural even when turned off. With this poster, Artek is now making a statement that allows even those who don’t need new furniture to bring good design into their living spaces.
