Artek ’s “ Siena ” pillowcases, made of canvas, are high-quality textiles from Alvar Aalto’s classic “ Siena ” collection. In 1954, Alvar Aalto designed his “ Siena ” pattern: a design that appears both architecturally clean and light. Aalto’s basic idea was to create a pattern for textiles that could be used for a wide variety of purposes—Aalto’s second wife, Elissa, even owned a dress featuring the “ Siena ” design. The “ Siena ” pillowcase is made of canvas cotton. Measuring 50 x 50 cm, it’s particularly well-suited for adding a decorative touch as a cover for a sofa pillow. Thanks to its timeless “ Siena ” design, the pillowcase blends seamlessly into a wide variety of settings. As the perfect complement, Artek ’s ABC Collection offers a merino wool blanket featuring the “ Siena ” pattern.
