Tolomeo Basculante Table Lamp

Table lamp with a translucent shade

The Tolomeo Basculante by Artemide is part of the famous Tolomeo series by Italian designers Michele de Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina. This connection is particularly evident in the lamp’s base: the unmistakable, adjustable arm made of polished aluminum is a hallmark of the Tolomeo family. The lampshade—crafted from a variety of high-quality materials, depending on your choice—and the base made of polished aluminum round out the Basculante’s design: The shade appears less technical and cold than the aluminum shade of the “ & ” “classic & ” Tolomeo lamp, which is why the Tolomeo Basculante is not only ideal as a desk lamp but can also be used as decorative ambient lighting in the living room or as a reading lamp on the nightstand. The slightly translucent shade, made of satin or parchment paper, emits an atmospheric, diffused light. With the appropriate wall mount, the Tolomeo Basculante can even be used as a wall sconce, offering many advantages over other wall sconces thanks to its flexible arm. Thus, the Tolomeo Basculante Lettura (desk) lamp from Artemide is a designer piece through and through, adding another interesting model to the Tolomeo series of (desk) lamps.
