Description

Star-Shaped Mobile for Hanging

“When everything comes together, a mobile is a piece of poetry that dances with the joy of life and surprises,” said American sculptor Alexander Calder, who is considered a master of the mobile and brought this art form to perfection. Today—and for the past 50 years—the name of the Danish family Flensted has stood for the design of high-quality and innovative mobiles that enrich a space in exciting ways. The “ Symphony in 3 Movements ” mobile was designed by Ole Flensted , the son of the company’s founder, Christian. Crafted from wood, each mobile is hand-assembled and balanced so that it can later unfold its full atmosphere with every breath of wind. As the name suggests, three “object symphonies” revolve like planets in a solar system around the “celestial bodies” at their centers. This creates a sense of balance and tranquility that—especially when combined with music—offers a wonderful respite from the stress of everyday life.
