Pendant Light – Iconic Design with the “ Flos ” “ Splügen Bräu ” Pendant Light
The “ Splügen Bräu ” pendant light by Flos is a true design classic and has been synonymous with timeless elegance and functional lighting design since the 1960s. Designed by the renowned designers Achille Castiglioni and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni in 1961, it combines industrial charm with iconic Italian design history. A defining feature of the light is its striking, hemispherical reflector made of turned, polished, and transparently lacquered aluminum. The reflective surface evokes the aesthetic of industrial objects from the 1960s and makes the lamp a stylish focal point above dining tables, kitchen islands, or counters. The “ Splügen Bräu ” emits direct, downward-directed light, providing targeted illumination for tables or work surfaces. When combined with a mirror-finished light source, it creates a pleasantly glare-free, warm light pattern that is both functional and atmospheric.
Its minimalist yet expressive design blends seamlessly into both modern and classic interiors.
With the Flos Splügen Bräu pendant light, you’re choosing a stylish designer fixture that perfectly combines iconic form, high-quality materials, and functional lighting.
