Sculptural Stool Made of Molded Plywood

The “ Gallery ” stool by Fredericia was originally designed by Hans Sandgren Jakobsen for an exhibition by the Copenhagen Art Association as seating for the exhibition’s guests. The stool’s extraordinary silhouette, crafted from molded plywood, made it almost a sculpture in its own right at the exhibition and left a lasting impression on visitors.

Extremely delicate form

The minimalist and simple design is the result of a complex and innovative process that makes it possible to shape wood veneer in multiple dimensions. The veneer of the “ Gallery ” stool is stretched to its maximum limit yet remains extremely stable and durable. This results in a stool that appears fragile but surprises with its stability. The “ Gallery ” stool by Hans Sandgren Jakobsen for Fredericia is manufactured in Denmark in various wood and color options.
