Fri Armchair

The Fri Armchair was developed by Spanish designer Jaime Hayon in collaboration with Fritz Hansen . The goal was to design a comfortable seating option that encourages social interaction with others in the room and helps create a pleasant and open atmosphere. The Fri Armchair is manufactured by Fritz Hansen to the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship. The result is a functional and aesthetically pleasing armchair that is an eye-catcher in any setting.

Fri means “free”

Fri creates its own space for relaxation, yet it does not convey a sense of detachment. Unlike most armchairs, Fri encourages awareness of the surroundings and interaction. & “Fri & ” means & “free & ” in Danish—this name was chosen because it creates an openness in the space that evokes a sense of freedom.

Colors and Base

This comfortable armchair is available in a variety of colors. The legs are color-coordinated with the upholstered seat shell and are either powder-coated or brushed. Each leg rests on nylon glides that are compatible with almost all floor coverings. The armchair’s rounded design is simple, elegant, and pleasing to both the eye and the body. Fri was developed to create a cozy feeling in any setting. Of course, it takes more than one armchair to create a complete ambiance, but with Fri, you’ve already taken the first step toward an extraordinary atmosphere. Upon request, the upholstered armchair is also available with a leather cover.
