Cobra Floor Candleholder

Serpentine Floor Candleholder

German designer Constantin Wortmann likes to play with the viewer’s perception. His floor candleholder for Georg Jensen is a typical example of his vision of transformation: & “I simply imagined the familiar silhouette of a conventional candleholder with organic curves. & ” The result is a floor candlestick that appears as if it has partially melted, while at the same time exuding a supple vitality that is also functionally perfect. The object owes its name to its serpentine form and power— Cobra . & “ Cobra gives the impression of rising up and floating as if defying gravity, &,” says Wortmann. When placed individually, it radiates a serpentine liveliness, while groups of two or more candleholders form a supple, graceful candelabra. & “This creates countless transformations when the candlesticks intertwine. & ” The high-gloss finish of the Cobra floor candlestick is further brought to life by the flickering of the candles, which stand securely within the candlestick. A single candlestick makes a bold and original statement. With different sizes and sets, you can create arrangements with a touch of subtle humor that play a key role in any home décor.
