Description
Architectural Design Object
The “ Tavolo a Dischi,” designed by Carlo De Carli in 1963, is an example of Italian mid-century design that blends architecture and furniture design. Its structure, consisting of stacked, concentric wooden discs, reflects De Carli’s commitment to combining technical precision, material quality, and functionality. The table was originally conceived as a response to Eero Saarinen’s “Tulip Table” and is characterized by a form that is both sculptural and stable.- Base made of stacked wooden discs with a metal core for high stability
- Tabletop made of walnut-veneered plywood
- Accent band made of burnished steel for visual contrast and protection of the base
