Crate Dining Table

Solid pine dining table

The Crate Dining Table from HAY . The Crate Collection was originally designed in 1934 by Dutch architect and designer Gerrit Rietveld to repurpose surplus wooden shipping crates. It was reissued in collaboration between Rietveld Originals and HAY . While preserving the integrity of the original design, the Crate Dining Table features precisely balanced proportions and a transparent construction, which strategically minimizes production costs and optimizes the assembly process. Available in two different lengths, the table—with its rectangular tabletop and diagonal crossbars—embodies simplicity and a spatial design that reflects the designer’s architectural principles, offering functionality and comfort without taking up excessive space. The Crate Dining Table is crafted from solid pine and finished with a water-based varnish in various color options, making it suitable for a wide range of outdoor settings.
