Description
lass pitcher from the “ Aino Aalto ” series
“Aalto” means “wave.” So it seems only natural that Aino Aalto , the wife of the famous architect and designer Alvar Aalto, was inspired by waves of all things to create her glass vessels. The “Aino & ” glass series was created as early as 1932 and was originally called “ & ” (“Bölgeblick & ”), a name that describes the ripples left on the water’s surface by a pebble thrown into the water.Versatile
The functional and timeless simplicity of the glasses still looks modern and contemporary today. The products in the Aino Aalto series are perfect for any occasion, whether a formal dinner party or a children’s birthday party. The Aino Aalto glass series was awarded the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1936. The pitcher offered here is a 120 cl clear glass pitcher that matches the “ Aino Aalto ” drinking glasses and the rest of the “ Aino Aalto ” glass series by Iittala. Please note that hot water must not be poured into the pitcher.
