Kastehelmi Cake Plate

Glass Cake Plate

The cake plate from the Kastehelmi series by Iittala perfectly complements Oiva Toikka’s bowls and plates. Thanks to Iittala , this 1964 design is now available again and is delighting design enthusiasts around the world. The legendary Kastehelmi design is now also available for cakes and tarts: The “ Kastehelmi ” cake plate from Iittala features the characteristic droplet pattern on the exterior, just like all Kastehelmi designs by Oiva Toikka. These droplets beautifully highlight the vibrant, reflective beauty of the glass. Thanks to its embossed texture, the “ Kastehelmi ” cake plate feels great to the touch and looks fantastic, too.

Glass Plate with Droplet Design

In the 1960s, Oiva Toikka sought a way to conceal the seams in pressed glass. That’s how he came up with the idea of placing small glass droplets on the seams. His experiment evolved into a completely new design, which has now been reissued by Iittala . The “ Kastehelmi ” cake plate is a beautiful addition to your table setting for any festive occasion and pairs perfectly with all kinds of cakes and pastries.
