As early as 1952, Norwegian designer Birger Dahl laid the foundation for this successful lamp series Birdy . Even back then, the lamps captivated audiences with their distinctive design and outstanding functionality, leading the series to be awarded the gold medal at the Milan Triennale in the 1950s.

Adjustable Light Head

In 2013, Northern undertook a re-edition of the series, ensuring that the lamps retained all the outstanding qualities of the originals. Like the rest of the series, the wall sconce stands out for its conical lamp head, which can be adjusted to the desired position depending on need and preference. The silhouette of the wall sconce resembles a bird with its head bowed, which ultimately inspired the series’ name.
