Pendant light with five aluminum reflectors
Verner Panton's VP Globe exudes a sense of futurism like almost no other light fixture. Designed in 1969, the year of the first moon landing, the fixture’s design embodies the world’s newfound faith in technology and the future. Amid this spirit of optimism and inspired by the idea of a new era, Verner Panton designed the VP Globe . Controllability, transparency, and colorfulness are the essential characteristics of the VP Globe . The acrylic glass sphere resembles an air bubble from which light emanates. Inside the sphere, a total of five reflectors are suspended from three steel wires. They surround the centrally located light source. The VP Globe not only provides soft, pleasant, and balanced ambient light but also uniquely showcases Verner Panton’s flair for technical aspects, materials, and the interplay of possibilities. & “Color planning is crucial when designing an environment. It’s not enough to say that red is just red and blue is just blue. I generally work with the colors of the color spectrum in parallel and take into account how they follow one another within the spectrum. This allows me to control the warm or cool character of a room and create an intended atmosphere,” says Verner Panton about the interplay of colors in design. Although playing with color temperatures and light colors is no longer uncommon in today’s world with modern lighting systems, the VP Globe pendant lamp uniquely illustrates the mechanical and optical interplay of light, light colors, and room atmospheres. Furthermore, with its clear acrylic glass shade and technically sleek aluminum reflectors, this classic lamp enriches any environment and is sure to attract everyone’s attention. The VP Globe was originally designed by Verner Panton for the company Louis Poulsen. Today, Verpan produces this extraordinary light fixture, which comes with a black fabric cord and a ceiling canopy.Every Verpan product is delivered with a certificate of authenticity. This certificate guarantees that it is an original product, still manufactured today by Verpan in accordance with Verner Panton’s strict quality standards.
