The “ Vitra ” “Hang It All” coat rack—designed in 1953—is one of Ray and Charles Eames’s best-known designs and can rightly be called a design classic. Originally designed as a children’s coat rack by Vitra , this design classic features colorful wooden balls intended to encourage children—as the name “Hang it all” suggests—to hang all their belongings on it: jackets, toys, roller skates, dolls, or backpacks.Design Meets Functionality
However, the past few decades have shown that the classic “Hang It All” coat rack is also a cheerful and functional alternative outside the children’s room—for example, in the hallway, the home office, or even the kitchen!
