Silhouette Figures
The silhouette figures from Vitra were designed by American designer Alexander Girard and were originally created in 1965 for the interior of the New York restaurant “La Reserve.” The cut-out-style figures were intended to be placed between tables as striking dividers while also creating a special atmosphere in the room.Bull and Mermaid Figures
Unfortunately, the restaurant was never actually built, but Alexander Girard’s plans and sketches have been preserved and are now on display at the Vitra Museum. Together with Girard’s family, Vitra has now decided to finally bring his designs to life more than 50 years later and produce the Silhouettes. The Bull and Mermaid figures allow you to add a touch of extravagance to your home. These abstractly designed figures are made of lacquered metal.
