Sebra – Interior for Kids
The name Sebra stands for high-quality design – children's furniture and accessories for kids and their bedrooms, from Denmark. The company was founded in 2004 by Mia Dela, who graduated in design from the design school in Kolding in Denmark and then worked as an employed designer for a year before setting up on her own.
The idea for a design company making only children's furniture and accessories came to Dela when she wanted to furnish her son Gustav's room and found that there was no furniture, accessories or toys to buy that met her standards of quality and design. She decided to set up her own design studio for children's furniture. The Sebra collection ranges from chests of drawers and beds to towels and tableware for children, and includes several hundred products. More than 20 employees – themselves parents of almost twice as many children – are constantly working on new designs and series for children's rooms in Denmark and around the world.
Sebra design – Danish craftsmanship and natural materials
Sebra's style draws heavily on traditional Danish craftsmanship, combining bold colours with solid techniques such as crochet and knotting. Some of Sebra's baby and children's products are made to organic standards, and the company supports local projects in the countries where its products are sold. Natural materials such as wood, wool and cotton form the core of the collection and are worked by hand – materials that spark children's imagination and meet parents' wish for quality and creativity.
The Kili collection brings together various Sebra children's furniture pieces in the same style, including the Sebra cot, the matching Kili mattress and a changing table. Beyond Sebra children's furniture, there are many other accessories that turn the children's room into a play paradise – and make tidying up child's play.
