Tom Dixon – Melt

Lights like molten lava

With Melt, Tom Dixon has created a lighting series made using an innovative vacuum process. When switched on, the balloon-like lampshades recall liquid lava and bathe the whole room in a special atmosphere.
Together with the design collective Front, Tom Dixon developed a light that lets the light shine through when it is on and has a mirrored surface when it is off. Its inner glow is visible even in full daylight. The lampshade of the Melt light is made from polycarbonate with a copper, chrome or gold coating.

The Melt light is available in various versions as a floor lamp, table lamp and pendant light.
