Since 1908, the name Carl Hansen & Søn has stood for outstanding Danish craftsmanship. To this day, the manufacturer based in Odense in Denmark produces its furniture to uncompromising quality standards.
Carl Hansen combines traditional woodworking techniques with modern technology to make furniture of lasting value. Most of the chairs and other wooden pieces from Carl Hansen & Søn were designed by leading Danish architects of the 1930s to 1960s, among them Hans J. Wegner. The design, vision and craftsmanship behind each piece are just as relevant today as they were then – if not more so.

All of Carl Hansen's wood comes from sustainably managed forests. All timber used is subject to the EUTR 2013 regulation, Danish forestry law and the applicable international certifications. Most of the oak, beech and ash that Hansen uses comes from Danish forests managed according to the principles set out in Denmark's national forest programme.
