Storage boxes and storage containers – stylish ways to stay organised
Over the years, a household accumulates a lot of things. Some are useful, others less so. Either way, they need to be put away – ideally in a way that keeps your space looking good. A storage box makes this quick and easy.

- The cardboard box: order in the study
- The all-purpose box: order in the storeroom
- A special case: the storage container on castors
1. The toy box: order in the children's room
Children love chaos. Their rooms fill up with cars, dolls, pens and building blocks – and you usually find the blocks with your feet first. Plenty of people know that pain. A toy box puts a stop to it. The Lego Storage Brick 8 storage box is a hit with children and parents alike. It gives teddies and the rest a new (tidy) home. The plastic box from Lego is stackable and available in various colours.
2. The cardboard box: order in the study
If you're sitting in your study right now, take a look around. What do you see? Pens, paper, documents, paper clips, rubbers, a calculator. The list could go on and on. With today's airy room concepts and furniture, it's hard to find storage space for the important things in everyday life – and the study is no exception. A simple box is the answer. You can store everything in it with ease, and it looks decorative too. The Box Box Desktop storage box by HAY comes in a set of five. Each cardboard box has its own colour design, coordinated with the other four.
3. The all-purpose box: order in the storeroom
A storeroom is meant for storing things, but all too often it turns into a junk room. We simply have too much to put away. An all-purpose box is a good way to sort things out. The Magis Box is a stackable box with a lid. It is 36 centimetres deep, so even slightly larger items fit inside without any trouble. Made of polypropylene, the box is sturdy and durable, so you can easily stack several and use them as shelving.
4. A special case: the storage container on castors
Storage containers usually have one key advantage: they are mobile. That's especially useful if you work on something in different places around the house. No more carrying things back and forth – the container follows you wherever you go. The Componibili containers by Kartell are design classics with a thirty-year tradition. The round elements have doors that slide open and closed as you please, so even the smallest bit of mess stays hidden from curious eyes.
