The Akari BB3-33S luminaire from Vitra is part of the iconic Akari Light Sculptures designed by Isamu Noguchi from 1951. The luminaires combine traditional Japanese craftsmanship with organic design and create a harmonious combination of light, material and space. Made from fine washi paper and a filigree bamboo structure, the Akari BB3-33S soft, diffuse light with a warm radiance. The sculptural shape gives the luminaire a light, almost floating presence and also makes it a decorative design object. The craftsmanship by Japanese artisans underlines the special quality of the series. Akari series.
