Poetic design from Copenhagen in Denmark
Copenhagen-based designers Aleksej Iskos and Boris Berlin have made a name for themselves with their design studio Iskos-Berlin, particularly in industrial, furniture and graphic design. They surprise with soft shapes and an exciting mix of materials. The two designers have worked together since the 1990s. In 2010, they founded Iskos-Berlin and developed a shared design philosophy that is now expressed in their minimalist objects.
A design team that tells stories
Design objects with a poetic touch and a surprising effect: for Iskos-Berlin, design is a form of storytelling. Their stories should be clear and easy to understand, so that everyone can grasp them.
"The more surprising you make your story, the more likely they are to remember it."
Iskos-Berlin designs products that entertain, have a clear expression and bring people joy – just as a good story does. To achieve this, the designers work with new materials and innovative technologies. Collaborations with well-known design brands such as Muuto and Menu have produced several internationally renowned pieces of furniture that reflect the designers' philosophy perfectly. The materials should speak for themselves – a good example of this principle is the Fiber Chair, which tells a complete story despite its strong reduction.
