A versatile designer from Oslo in Norway
Kristine Five Melvær (b. 1984) is an Oslo-based designer who works with tableware, lighting, furniture, textiles and graphic design. She explores object communication and bridges the disciplines of product design and graphic design. She focuses on the communicative potential of objects to create emotional bonds between object and user. By seeking the sensory essence of phenomena, she translates these qualities into sensual objects with Scandinavian simplicity.
Melvær holds a master's degree in industrial design from the Oslo School of Architecture and a master's degree in visual communication from the Oslo National Academy of the Arts.
