Light, stackable wooden seating
The Soft Edge series stands out for its innovative design, which provides a high level of seating comfort. Designed by Boris Berlin and Aleksej Iskos, the series is produced by Danish manufacturer HAY. The softly shaped seats and backrests allow for "dynamic sitting". The legs are made of solid oak or powder-coated steel and contribute greatly to the individual charm of the stools and chairs.
Innovative manufacturing for an ideal result
Despite its unassuming appearance, the series was made using the latest production techniques. Back in the 1950s, designers experimented with the possibilities of conventional veneer but soon reached its limits. The design duo took up the subject again – and the result is the Soft Edge series: light, stackable and pared back. All the corners of the extremely thin seat are bent away from the body to accommodate natural movement.
