Alessi ’s Birillo series is a prime example of this. The bathroom container by designer Piero Lissoni lends this simple, everyday object an unexpected elegance. The three-part Birillo box has room for many small items—from hair ties and barrettes to eyelash curlers and makeup accessories. The lower container holds larger items, while the upper one is divided into three sections. This ensures there’s a perfect spot for almost every item in the bathroom. This bathroom organizer stands out on its own or as part of the Birillo collection with its clean lines, elegant simplicity, and the features that set Piero Lissoni’s Birillo products apart from the crowd of bathroom accessories: Thanks to the rounded edges at the base, the contact points with the floor are not visible; the pieces in the collection appear to float, as if drifting on the smooth surfaces of the bathroom. With Birillo, Alessi presents its first comprehensive bathroom collection. Simple and beautiful, practical and extensive, Birillo offers the opportunity to complete the bathroom and give it an elegant and harmonious look. In designing Birillo, Piero Lissoni took the shape of a rounded square as his starting point, which evolves into various three-dimensional forms. The designer himself describes this shape as an “imperfect square or a completely failed circle.”
