Minimalist Teakettle by Naoto Fukasawa
The lid of the “ Alessi ” Cha fits effortlessly yet securely into the body of the kettle or teapot, ensuring it cannot open during use. The movable handle of the Cha is attached to the body in such a way that it locks into a vertical position when the object is lifted, making it easier to pour. When horizontal, the handle of the Alessi Cha lies flush against the body, allowing the multifunctional tea maker to be stored in a very space-saving manner when not in use. With its large integrated filter, “ Cha ”—the name, incidentally, is the Japanese word for“tea”—becomes a sophisticated vessel for serving the beverage.
Alessi Cha by Naoto Fukasawa: expressive purism
The welded spout is equipped with an additional filter that catches any tea leaves that may have escaped from the inner filter. Thanks to this structural detail, the teapot can also be used without a filter, with the tea leaves directly inside the body. The form, which is only seemingly simple, conceals the depth of the designer’s attention to the details of his project—a hallmark of the expressive purist Naoto Fukasawa: elegant, simple, and yet thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. Cha It is made of 18/10 stainless steel with a lid knob made of thermoplastic resin to protect hands from heat. This modern teapot has a capacity of 900 ml. The base of the “ Cha ” kettle / teapot, made of magnetic steel, is suitable for all types of heat sources, including induction cooktops.
