Stylish Pepper Mill by Michael Graves
“Being able to support Michael Graves, the brilliant postmodern architect, as he took his first steps into the world of product design in the early 1980s is one of my many wonderful experiences as a design manager. I think Graves can be described as one of the most controversial architects of the late 20. century. His career was marked by enthusiasm and contradictions, shaped by great successes and popularity. But we also know that he was heavily criticized in the industry’s intellectual circles &,” says Alberto Alessi . Despite all the criticism, Graves’ products still enjoy immense popularity. In addition to the kettle featuring the “ & ” “little bird & ” and the “ & ” “Tea & & Coffee Piazza & ” series, the 9098 pepper mills and their matching salt shakers are among the best-known products Michael Graves designed for Alessi . At the same time, the 9098 stainless steel pepper mill with its oversized wing made of PA plastic is a flagship example of the postmodern design experiments with which Alessi made a name for himself in the design world in the 1980s. The grinding mechanism is made by Peugeot, ensuring that the technology inside is every bit as impressive as the design.
