Functional Potato Peeler
Sfrido, the potato peeler designed by Valerio Sommella for Alessi , is part of the Objets-Bijoux collection. The name itself (Italian for “scraps” or “shavings”) refers to its functional aspect—namely, what’s left over after peeling potatoes.A Curving, Ergonomic Ribbon
The shape of “ Sfrido ,” crafted from polished stainless steel, resembles a stylized ribbon that gently twists and turns until it envelops the blade. Thanks to the curves of these flowing lines, the product can be held in a natural, ergonomic way. The user can decide for themselves how they want to hold the object. The peeler is suitable for all types of vegetables. As part of the Objets-Bijoux collection, the “ Sfrido ” peeler is one of many small everyday helpers that delight with their combination of form and function.
