Adjustable Pot Holder
“ Tripod ” by Alessi appears at first glance to be a piece of jewelry, but soon reveals itself to be an extraordinary pot holder created by the young designer Gabriele Chiave. The unique design strings sturdy elements together on a chain, allowing “ Tripod ” to be hung on a kitchen hook, for example. Just like a game of dice, “ Tripod ” can be tossed onto the table and arranged. Once a suitable position is found, “ Tripod ” transforms from a decorative piece into a trivet for pots, hot plates, or trays. “ Tripod ,” with its visual appeal, is as much a decorative object as it is a practical one. This makes it possible to leave “ Tripod ” on the table or elsewhere—whether before or after a meal, or even completely independent of mealtime.
