Artek , designed by Alvar Aalto in 1933, is a compact and versatile wooden table that can be easily unfolded when needed to create additional space. This table is therefore ideal for small dining or work areas. The legs and edges of the table are made of solid birch, while the folding tabletop is coated with durable and easy-to-clean high-pressure laminate, making it particularly well-suited as a dining table. Made in Finland. The Aalto tables are characterized by the clever combination of Alvar Aalto’s iconic L-legs and various tabletops. Aalto first introduced the curved L-leg in 1933, and it quickly became a standard feature of his furniture designs. As a prominent designer and architect, Aalto considered the development of the L-leg to be one of his greatest achievements and referred to it as “the little sister of the architectural column.” Thanks to their minimalist charm, Artek ’s tables can be seamlessly paired with a variety of chairs, making them a versatile choice for living spaces, public facilities, and offices.
