The " K65 " kitchen and bar stool was designed by Alvar Aalto in 1937 for Artek , and Artek continues to manufacture it true to the original design to this day. Alvar Aalto’s designs have traveled the world, and everyone is familiar with his furniture. Like almost all objects by designer and architect Alvar Aalto, the K65 kitchen chair features the characteristic organic L-shape. Aalto developed and patented the distinctive L-shaped leg as early as 1932. The curved birch veneer that makes Aalto’s furniture so unique was revolutionary at the time. This is because the bending technique, developed specifically by Aalto, guarantees unmatched stability. The “ K65 ” kitchen chair is made of birch wood. The seat is available upholstered in birch veneer, white laminate, red or black linoleum, or fabric or leather. The kitchen chair is delivered unassembled!
