The Design Icon Among Side Tables
Amongthe
classics, this is arguably the classic. Its ingeniously proportioned, unmistakable shape has made this height-adjustable table one of the most popular design icons of the 20. century. It is named after the E 1027 summer house, “Maison en bord de mer,” which Eileen Gray built for herself and her collaborator Jean Badovici. The mysterious code name also comes from her: E stands for Eileen, 10 for Jean (J is the 10. letter of the alphabet), 2 for B(adovici), and 7 for G(ray). The height-adjustable frame of the side table is made of chrome-plated steel tubing. The classic version features a clear crystal glass top. In addition, the Adjustable Table is also available with a gray Parsol glass top or a black-lacquered metal top.
