Cobra Candleholder

German designer Constantin Wortmann likes to play with the viewer’s perception. His candlestick for Georg Jensen is a typical example of his vision of transformation: & “I simply imagined the familiar silhouette of a conventional candlestick with organic curves. & ” The result is a candlestick that appears as if it has partially melted, yet at the same time exudes a supple vitality that is also perfectly functional. The object owes its name—Cobra—to its serpentine form and power. & “Cobra gives the impression of rising up and floating as if defying gravity, & ” says Wortmann. When displayed individually, it radiates a serpentine liveliness, while groups of two or more candlesticks form a supple, graceful candelabra. & “This creates countless transformations as the candlesticks wind around one another. & ” The high-gloss stainless steel of the Cobra candlestick is brought to life even more by the flickering of the candles, which stand securely within it. A single candlestick makes a bold and original statement. With different sizes and sets, you can create arrangements with a touch of subtle humor that play a key role in any home décor. The Cobra candlestick is also available in a three-armed version.
