Hem ’s Molino Mill—a functional sculpture for the dining table

With its exaggerated form, the Molino Mill by Hem is an expressive statement piece for the table and kitchen counter. Designer Fabien Cappello combines everyday functionality with a graphic, almost sculptural design. Inspired by the energy and vibrancy of Mexico, where Cappello lives and works, Molino deliberately features bold proportions and a strong visual presence.

Solid beech wood and striking colors

Crafted from turned, solid beech wood, the mill’s generous size makes it a substantial presence in the hand. It is suitable for grinding salt, pepper, and spices, thus combining decorative appeal with practical function. The striped versions are hand-painted and finished with a glossy varnish, while the natural finish highlights the wood’s characteristic grain. Molino is available in vertical and horizontal versions. This transforms the Molino mill from Hem a functional design object that looks great on the table even when not in use.
