Pendant Light by Ferruccio Laviani

FL/Y is a light fixture by designer Ferruccio Laviani, characterized by its subtle thematic variations. The light is made of methacrylate, which is available in transparent, opaque, and metallic versions and serves as a subtle eye-catcher whether displayed individually or in a group.

Transparent, opaque, or metallic

The transparent version of the light fixture is available in a wide range of colors: from green to blue, red, and yellow—every shade is represented. The material’s unique transparency and alluring sheen are reminiscent of a soap bubble shimmering in the sunlight. In addition to the opaque models in the classic “non-colors” of black and white, the FLY pendant light is also available in the exceptionally elegant metallic finishes: chrome, gold, and copper. In these shimmering finishes, the Kartell pendant light is a gleaming gem for any ceiling.

Form and Light

The shade—or calotte—of the FLY pendant light is not a perfect hemisphere: its height at the cut is slightly less than its diameter, which focuses the emitted light. This makes the light particularly suitable for focused lighting over a dining or kitchen table or in other areas where concentrated light is desired. Available in colorful versions for the children’s room, in black or white for the kitchen, or in one of the elegant metallic shades for the living area, the Fly pendant light from Kartell is a classic, versatile lighting fixture that comes in a wide selection of colors, as well as in “ & ” and “small & ” versions for smaller living spaces.
