Officina Alessi - Socrates Corkscrew

Elegant Designer Corkscrew

With the “ Socrates ” corkscrew, designer Jasper Morrison returns to the corkscrew’s original form. The corkscrew dispenses with all unnecessary details and focuses solely on the absolute essentials. The “ Socrates ” corkscrew also makes a humorous reference to its namesake, the ancient philosopher Socrates, and his so-called Socratic method. The Socratic method is a technique for gaining insight and uncovering essential answers through conversation. Just as the philosopher sought to extract true insight from communication through his method, the “ Socrates ” corkscrew also helps you get to the heart of the matter—and when opening a bottle, that is, after all, the drink inside. Thus, the Socrates corkscrew by Jasper Morrison from the Officina Alessi collection is a humorous exploration of a complex topic through sophisticated design. In this way, it embodies the credo of the Officina Alessi collection, which features the most sophisticated and elegant products from Alessi .
