The basic form is based on the Thonet classic 118, which Herkner has reinterpreted for the bar stool. The seat frame is bent in one piece, a technique that also traces back to Michael Thonet . The seat is handcrafted and offers pleasant comfort.

A Form with Subtle Details

A glance at the legs reveals the design’s distinctive signature. Rounded on the outside and straight on the inside, they echo the horseshoe-shaped base of the seat. Such details make the bar stool less imposing and, at the same time, more elegant, ensuring it looks just as impressive at a home kitchen bar as it does in a restaurant.
