S 32 V Chair

A cantilever chair in the Bauhaus tradition— Thonet ’s “ S 32 V” chair combines lightness and timeless elegance

The S 32 V Chair by Thonet is one of the most significant cantilever chair designs in design history and embodies the Bauhaus’s clean, minimalist aesthetic. Designed by Marcel Breuer, the chair combines a delicate frame made of bent steel tubing with a seat and backrest made of high-quality wicker. The characteristic cantilever principle ensures a pleasantly springy seating experience, while the minimalist silhouette lends the chair an extraordinary lightness. As a result, the S 32 V blends harmoniously into dining rooms, conference rooms, or stylish living areas.

The combination of precise craftsmanship, durable materials, and functional design makes the S 32 V a furniture classic with enduring value. The natural rattan weave offers a high level of seating comfort and underscores the warm, inviting character of the design, while the chrome-plated tubular steel frame ensures stability and timeless elegance. With its successful blend of design history and practicality for everyday use, the S 32 V chair remains Thonet a stylish choice for sophisticated interior design concepts.
