Ceiling Lamp No. 4

A light sculpture for the ceiling—Ceiling Lamp No. 4 by Valerie Objects

It’s as if someone had lifted a delicate drawing off the paper and transferred it into the room: The Ceiling Lamp N°4 by Valerie Objects brings Muller Van Severen’s distinctive design language to life in three dimensions. Just a few precise lines are all the design duo needs to transform functional lighting into a graphic object with a surprisingly strong presence. Rather than receding into the background, the structure itself becomes a design element of the interior.

What makes it special is its simplicity. The slender structure traces a clear geometric pattern against the ceiling, while the deliberately understated lampshade provides a calm counterpoint. The ample space between the individual elements lends the design an almost weightless effect. As a result, the Ceiling Lamp N°4 appears different depending on the viewing angle, playfully shifting between line, surface, and space.

Various color options lend additional character to the distinctive silhouette. Subtle shades allow the delicate geometry to blend seamlessly with its surroundings, while bolder colors deliberately highlight the Ceiling Lamp N°4 as a graphic accent. A design for spaces where light not only provides brightness but is also allowed to be part of the design itself.
