Hanging Lamp No. 5 Wall Sconce

A lighting fixture with surprising lightness—Hanging Lamp N°5 by Valerie Objects

Reduced to the essentials and, for that very reason, impossible to overlook: The Hanging Lamp N°5 wall sconce by Valerie Objects features a delicate steel line that extends from the wall into the room, combining functional lighting with the sculptural signature of Muller Van Severen. The Hanging Lamps collection has its origins in an everyday challenge: Because there was no ceiling outlet above the table in their own home, the designer duo developed a light fixture that relocates its point of origin to the wall. This pragmatic solution evolved into a design with an unmistakable character.

In the N°5, the interplay between the slender construction and the deliberately simple lampshade defines its impact. Rather than creating a presence through volume, the lamp traces its geometry into the open space. The minimalist design leaves plenty of space around the object, making the expansive structure a graphic element of the interior—almost like a three-dimensional sketch whose lines are only fully realized within the space.

Equipped with an E27 socket, the light bulb can be replaced. The Hanging Lamp N°5 is intended for dry indoor use and is not dimmable. Different color variations alter its appearance: Subtle tones emphasize the delicate construction, while bolder colors deliberately make the characteristic lines the focal point of the design.
