Table Lamp Made of Bamboo and Washi Paper
The Akari YA2 table lamp by Isamu Noguchi for Vitra is a timeless lamp in the Far Eastern style. Isamu Noguchi has designed more than 100 Akari lamps since 1951. A visit to Japan inspired the creation of these designer lamps. The lamp is made of bamboo and washi paper. The white, sturdy paper softens the light and diffuses it gently and evenly.Akari Light Sculptures Series
The Akari Light Sculptures series consists of pendant lights as well as table, floor, and ceiling lamps. The lamps come in various shapes, ranging from simple to experimental. & “The light of an Akari shines like sunlight filtered through shoji paper. The magic of the paper transforms the cold electricity back into the eternal light of the sun. So that its warmth can continue to fill our rooms even at night.” & “Isamu Noguchi”
