Tecnolumen was founded by Walter Schnepel in Bremen in 1980. At first, the company produced only one single lamp:

The world-famous Wilhelm Wagenfeld Table Lamp WA24, which was designed by Prof.

Wilhelm Wagenfeld in 1924 in the Bauhaus era. As the years went by the product range from Tecnolumen was complemented with further Bauhaus products among others from Bauhaus designers such as Gyula Pap, Hans Przyrembel or Marianne Brandt.
Not only design lamps but also door handles, small furniture and living accessories were added to the product range.

Tecnolumen today however, not only offers products from famous Bauhaus period designers but also products from “current” designers such as: Günter Leuchtmann, Günter Wermekes, Dieter Rams, Vincenz Warnke, Ninus Tatari Yoash, Thomas Schultz, Benedict Tonon, Designgroup ZENO, P. Schnorrenberger, W. Schnepel or N. Voigtländer-Tetzner. Tecnolumen is currently the world market leader for products which were designed in the Bauhaus era. Tecnolumen is known for its high-quality manufacturing.
