Lena Bergström is one of Sweden's best-known glass designers and looks back on a long career with the Orrefors glassworks. Her second field of expertise is textiles. She says she likes soft glass and hard textiles – and you can see this in her work. Her textiles have a clear graphic expression, while her glass design is much more organic.
Lena Bergström graduated from the textile department of Konstfack in Stockholm in Sweden and has since received numerous awards, including 12 Excellent Swedish Design awards and 3 Elle Decoration Design Awards. Her work is exhibited at the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museum of Fashion, Design and Decorative Arts in Gothenburg in Sweden, the Cleveland Museum of Art in the United States and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London in the UK.
