nanimarquina – the art of rugs
After studying industrial design at the Escola Massana in Barcelona in Spain, Nani Marquina created a number of successful textile designs. Building on this success and on a largely overlooked demand for high-quality home textiles, the designer founded her own company, nanimarquina, in 1987.
nanimarquina is dedicated to the design, creation and distribution of high-quality rugs for the home. Built on innovation and observation, nanimarquina combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.
From the outset, designer and company founder Nani Marquina has been committed to carefully selecting high-quality raw materials and to fair production conditions – factors that inevitably enrich the aesthetics of the design. In addition to traditional rug making, Nani Marquina works with international designers to create designer rugs of the highest standard.
Since 1993, nanimarquina's production has been based in India. Drawing on the country's traditions and original manufacturing practices, the rugs are made with great care by hand. Thanks to traditional tools and production methods, every rug is one of a kind.
Since founding the company, Nani Marquina has received numerous awards, including the National Design Award, the International Women's Entrepreneurial Challenge Award and the FIDEM Award for Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year.
