Simon Legald graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in summer 2012. His designs emerge from a dialogue between craft and industry. His furniture, home accessories and other designs stand out for their high quality and durability.
"Honesty is what makes a product understandable and what describes its function. If you understand the product, it needs no further explanation. The essence of my designs is to be bought and used. To achieve that, they must meet not only functional needs but also psychological and aesthetic ones.
For me, simplicity describes the true identity of objects and makes them trustworthy. In my designs, I try to leave out unnecessary details. I work with simplicity by highlighting what is essential instead of hiding it. That gives the product a simple and honest expression."
