Finnish design meets the American way of life
Studio Tolvanen is the product design studio of Mika & Julie Tolvanen. Mika is a Finnish designer who set up his own studio after graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2001. Julie is an American designer who worked as a woodworker for ten years before moving to Finland in 2009 to do her master's in furniture design. In 2015, Mika and Julie founded a new design studio together: Studio Tolvanen.
From their studio and workshop on the island of Lauttasaari in Helsinki in Finland, they design products for residential and contract interiors. Their partners include renowned manufacturers such as Muuto, Woud, FontanaArte and Zanotta.
