A designer from Tuscany
Valerio Sommella is a designer born in Cortona (Tuscany, Italy) in 1980. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 2004 and then began working with architect and designer Stefano Giovannoni.
After moving to Amsterdam in the Netherlands, Sommella joined designer Marcel Wanders' team, before eventually founding his own studio in Milan in Italy. The idea behind his designs is to create an ongoing dialogue between user, materials, context, technology and beauty. Valerio Sommella's work ranges from classic product design and furniture to lighting and electronics design for Italian and international clients such as Alessi, Panasonic, Vistosi, Konica Minolta, Kundalini, Lumen Center, Plust, Rianne S, Slide, Toyota, United Pets and Honda.
