Vaarnii – Finnish design in solid pine
Vaarnii is a young Finnish furniture brand focused on furniture and home objects with a strong character, made from local materials. Launched in 2021, the brand combines contemporary design with local manufacturing and a deliberately uncompromising material aesthetic.
Finnish pine at the centre
Vaarnii's first collection is made entirely from Finnish Scots pine. This wood, common across Finland, is deliberately used as the starting point for the design. Its grain, its properties and the way it changes naturally over time are not hidden but become part of the design.
Local materials and manufacturing
Vaarnii focuses on natural raw materials that are available in Finland and that have often received little attention from designers. The furniture is made by local craftspeople and manufacturers in Finland. In this way, the brand combines industrial possibilities with regional know-how and craft experience.
A new interpretation of Finnish design
In terms of form, Vaarnii relies on solid construction, clear shapes and a deliberately direct use of material. Traditional ideas of Finnish simplicity meet a robust, at times almost brutalist aesthetic. The result is Vaarnii's own contemporary take on Finnish furniture culture.
