The Ditzel Lounge Chair by Nanna Ditzel for the manufacturer Fredericia provides a comfortable embrace in the truest sense of the word. The chair’s inviting, organic shape cradles the sitter’s body. Ditzel was the in-house designer at Fredericia in the late 1980s. She was known for her rebellious spirit and fearlessness. When she and her husband Jørgen Ditzel designed the Ditzel Lounge Chair in 1953, they rejected the conventional notion that a chair must be upright and difficult to sit in. The curves of the Ditzel Lounge Chair are carefully thought out to appear as elegant as possible from every angle. The wide, interlocking backrest and armrests, along with their luxurious upholstery, offer maximum comfort. This modern interpretation of the traditional armchair is crafted from walnut wood and sheepskin.
