A long-established company from Denmark
Fredericia was founded in 1911 as Fredericia Stolefabrik (Fredericia Chair Factory) by entrepreneur N.P. Ravnsø, who successfully ran the factory until his death in 1936. The factory takes its name from the Danish town where it was founded and where it still produces its furniture today. From the start, Ravnsø placed great emphasis on high-quality materials and only hired exceptionally talented craftspeople. This made him and his factory known beyond the town of Fredericia for high-quality furniture in a variety of styles.
After the Second World War, Andreas Graversen, who was then working for Fredericia as an architect, acquired the factory. The town of Fredericia had asked him to save the factory from bankruptcy. His only condition was to hire designer Børge Mogensen. Mogensen shaped Fredericia's design until his death in the early 1970s, and his designs are still sold by Fredericia today. Andreas Graversen's son, Thomas Graversen, who joined the family business in the 1990s, now runs the company.
To this day, the company has remained true to its high standards of materials and exceptional craftsmanship. Working with outstanding designers, Fredericia produces furniture and accessories of the highest quality for a select group of companies. Its design is timeless, functional and beautifully crafted.
